PixelZip ("we", "us", or "our") is a media compression utility designed to help users shrink images, videos, audio files, and PDFs locally on their mobile devices. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how our application handles information.

PixelZip is designed to operate 100% offline. We do not have a central server, and we do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data or media files.

A. Media Files

When you use the app to compress files, the app reads and processes your selected media (images, videos, audio, and PDFs) entirely locally on your device. Your files never leave your device and are never uploaded to any cloud server.

B. Recent Files History

The app stores a local history of your recently compressed files and their file paths to provide a "Recent Files" feature. This data is stored locally on your device using Android's internal storage mechanisms.

C. App Preferences

The app saves your preferences (such as theme choice, EXIF preservation settings, and whether you have completed the onboarding screen) locally on your device.

2. How We Use Information

We use the accessed files solely to provide the compression functionality of the app. The recent files history and preferences are used exclusively to improve your user experience within the app.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share your data with any third parties.

The only way your data or media files leave your device is if you explicitly choose to use the "Share" feature. When you do this:

1. The app opens the system share sheet, allowing you to send your compressed files to a destination of your choice (e.g., Email, Messaging apps, Cloud storage).

You are responsible for the data you share and the recipients you choose.

4. User Controls and Data Deletion

• Clearing History: You can clear your recent files history or cache by clearing the app's data in your device settings.
• App Deletion: Deleting the app from your device will remove all locally stored app preferences and recent files history. Your saved compressed files will remain in your Documents or designated output folder unless manually deleted.

5. Security

Since PixelZip operates entirely offline, your files are protected by your device's native security features. We rely on the Android operating system's sandboxing and permissions system to ensure your files are processed securely.

6. Children's Privacy

PixelZip does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Given the offline nature of the app, no personal data is transmitted from users of any age.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the app or on our project's repository page.
